2020 Vision: Is That a Catchy Enough Title?

Yeah, I'm starting a blog.
I don't know what it is about 2020, but there has been this urge inside of me to write. If you know me well, you would of never guessed to hear that phrase coming out of my mouth (or being typed in a blog). But it's true. For the last few weeks I've been itching to get my thoughts on to a page. Ain't nobody got time for a diary, especially because my handwriting is terrible. So I figure I'll give this blog thing a try.
Here's another thought. Is it really smart to keep a personal blog on my professional portfolio website? I think so, and here's why. If someone is checking out my website, it's probably because they're thinking of hiring me in some way. Whether it's for school, a job, or they're learning more about 574 Theatre. Either way, they want to get to know me. So yeah, look at all my past work and experience, but also read blog posts that come straight from my brain, no edit. What better way to get to know someone?
I imagine this site being a sounding board for my theatre nerdness and political junkiness. Both of those things run deep in my blood, and it's what I'm really passionate about. I'm looking forward to taking bold stances on current theatre and current news. I imagine some meaningless blog posts such as "Alex's Top 10 Productions of 2020" and "Why Do People like The Sound of Music?". But I also hope to grapple topics that much like theatre, leave the place of their original setting. I hope we can start conversations about topics that are touchy and sensitive. How can we get better if we can't talk about it?
So anyways, that's my blog intro. I think I'll end each blog post just like I end most rehearsals at 574 Theatre. Do better. Suck less. Go team.
